Compeer and Wealth Dynamix asked relationship managers for their views on their day job, client relationships, opportunities and pressure points

The findings paint a surprising picture of relationship managers’ motivations and how their firms have reacted to fast-changing market dynamics

London, UK, May 11, 2021 – Wealth Dynamix, a global leader in Client Lifecycle Management (CLM) solutions, has joined forces with independent research firm, Compeer, to understand the new reality within the fast-changing wealth management marketplace.

Wealth Dynamix and Compeer partnered to undertake the study in order to gauge the mood and motivations of the advice community. While the impact of the pandemic on the already shifting wealth management landscape has been well documented, many firms have kept their response to this under their belts.

In a culmination of discussions with Investment Managers, Portfolio Managers, and Wealth Managers from a cross-section of UK firms, the report looks at the dynamics within these businesses, from growth aspirations and margin pressures to how they’re managing prospects as well as clients themselves. The respondents shared their views on their priorities as they take stock of the last year and look to make sense of post-restriction life, including what they really think of their roles and the barriers that stand in the way of good client relationship management.

Gary Linieres, CEO and Co-founder of Wealth Dynamix says, “We are delighted to have worked with Compeer to produce the report, the findings of which echo many of the conversations we have had with our own clients. The narrative within the industry has shifted demonstrably in the last year or so and relationship managers have been busier than ever. Yet while the enforced adoption of remote working during the pandemic has been widely reported, our research unveils some surprising perspectives from relationship managers themselves on the reality of their roles and what truly makes them tick.”

The findings of the report, Managing the Client Lifecycle, will be previewed at a webinar hosted by James Brown, Compeer’s Head of Client Services, and Gary Linieres, Co-founder and CEO of Wealth Dynamix on Tuesday 25 May, 2021 at 09:30 BST / 10:00 CEST.

All webinar registrants will receive a pre-release copy of the research report.

Why the key to efficient onboarding is to focus on the wider journey

The client onboarding experience for many firms is the first time that a client comes ‘face-to-face’ with the processes and operations of a wealth management firm or private bank. The quality of this experience can set the tone for the ongoing relationship and the client’s expectations, but with a third of firms taking longer than three months to onboard clients, it can also represent a missed opportunity.
