Why do wealth management professionals need to rethink their client relationships?
François de Lescure, Country Manager France at Wealth Dynamix – Client expectations have changed profoundly. Accustomed to the digital customer journeys offered by retail banks and online services, they now expect the same level of simplicity, responsiveness and seamless service from their wealth advisers. At the same time, professionals are faced with an ever-increasing number of regulatory requirements: know-your-client procedures, anti-money laundering measures, verification of the source of funds and audit obligations. Whilst these procedures are essential, they take up an increasing proportion of their time, even though their added value lies in supporting their clients’ life plans: retirement planning, wealth transfer, investment or wealth optimisation. The challenge of digitalisation is clear: to automate administrative tasks so that advisers can refocus on their core business – providing advice.
In what way is client lifecycle management (CLM) a suitable solution?
François de Lescure – CLM digitises the entire customer journey, from the initial contact through to long-term wealth management. Certain tasks can be carried out independently by the customer via secure portals, prior to validation by the adviser. Repetitive processes are automated; for example, AI agents help to build customer understanding, whilst high-value-added interactions remain at the heart of the customer relationship.
This is the approach Wealth Dynamix has been developing since 2012. Unlike a traditional CRM (1), its CLM platform – designed for private banking, wealth management and family offices – natively incorporates the specific requirements of the financial sector. It centralises wealth data, automates onboarding, simplifies compliance procedures, assesses risks, ensures the traceability of decisions and takes into account the management of legal entities. Offered as a SaaS (2) solution, it benefits from a secure infrastructure, regular updates and an open architecture enabling it to interface with specialised tools, particularly those for portfolio management or wealth assessment. The CLM also facilitates the integration of new technologies, such as artificial intelligence, for targeted use cases such as document analysis or data consistency checks.
How is CLM supporting the transformation of wealth management?
François de Lescure – Wealth management is currently undergoing a period of consolidation, with numerous specialist firms and players merging. The challenge lies in harmonising processes and data whilst preserving the unique characteristics of each entity. This is made possible by CLM platforms, which offer a unified view of client information whilst adapting to different organisational and distribution models. CLM is thus establishing itself as a true orchestrator of the digital ecosystem. It supports the evolution of wealth management towards a model where technological innovation, excellence in client relations and the quality of the client relationship advance in tandem.
